Almost every hotel in Thailand will hold your bags free of charge after checkout — it is standard practice, not a favor. If your last afternoon is a massage around the corner and dinner in the same neighborhood, use it and spend nothing.
The honest downside is the return trip. Bangkok’s evening rush runs roughly 16:30–19:30, and a “quick swing by the hotel” from Siam or the riverside can cost an hour or more before you even start toward the airport. If your afternoon ends far from your hotel, the free option quietly becomes the most expensive one — paid in time and buffer you’d rather have at check-in.
