1. Jodd Fairs Ratchada – the reliable all-rounder
After the Rama 9 and DanNeramit branches closed (January 2025), everything consolidated here, next to Big C on Ratchadaphisek Road, three minutes from MRT Thailand Cultural Centre Exit 4. Still the safest single pick in the city: hundreds of food stalls – the flaming leng saap pork-bone soup is the signature photo – plus fashion and live music, daily 17:00-01:00. Arrive before 19:00 to beat the queues.
2. Train Night Market Ratchada – back from the dead
The rainbow-tent market behind Esplanade Ratchada reopened on 27 March 2026 after five years away (its interim successor, The One Ratchada, closed in May 2025). Daily 17:00-01:00: vintage dealers, container bars, live bands. Freshly reopened – check its social pages before a special trip – and get the classic aerial photo from the Esplanade car park.

3. Talad Rot Fai Srinakarin – the vintage original
The original Train Night Market still sprawls behind Seacon Square on Srinakarin Road, Thursday to Sunday, 17:00-01:00: warehouse aisles of antiques, classic cars, rockabilly barbershops and Thailand’s best junk-hunting. Ride the Yellow Line to MRT Suan Luang Rama IX, Exit 1, then walk five minutes past Seacon Square. Best after 19:00.
4. Chatuchak Friday Night Market – the wholesale session
Fewer travelers know that on Fridays, 18:00-24:00, parts of the market run a wholesale trading night – cooler air, pallet-priced fashion, vendors who expect you to buy three, not one. 5. Indy Market Chatuchak – the makers’ market
Same neighbourhood, different crowd: Friday to Sunday, 19:00 to midnight on Kamphaeng Phet 2 Road, Indy Market is where independent makers – not resellers – sell handmade accessories and vintage finds, with live music and prices below the daytime market. 6. Yaowarat (Chinatown) – Michelin-grade street food
Yaowarat is not a market with a gate – it is a district that becomes one after dark. Stalls light up from around 18:00 nightly, the street peaks by 21:00 and thins after 22:30. 7. Hua Mum Market – giant portions, local crowd
Out on Kaset-Nawamin Road, Hua Mum runs nightly from roughly 17:00 to midnight: a couple of hundred open-air stalls, almost no tourists, and a trademark of comically oversized sharing dishes. No rail nearby – budget a taxi or Grab each way.
8. Liab Duan Ramintra – the biggest cheap-eats sprawl
Along Pradit Manutham Road by the Ramintra expressway, Liab Duan opens nightly at 17:00 and runs past midnight. Enormous, cheap and almost entirely local: budget fashion, gadgets, spicy leng saap, grilled seafood. A second branch now trades on the old DanNeramit site near BTS Ha Yaek Lat Phrao, but the original is the experience – and still a taxi ride.
9. Save One Go Bangna – the new southeast option
The newest name here: a food-first local market, over a hundred vendors, daily from around 16:00 to 23:00 near MRT Si Iam on the Yellow Line – the rare local night market you can reach by train. If you are staying around Bangna, it beats the crosstown haul to Ratchada.

10. Asiatique The Riverfront – the polished one
Asiatique is an open-air riverside mall in night-market clothing: fixed prices, a giant Ferris wheel, cabaret shows. Open daily 11:00 to midnight (stalls from about 17:00); a free shuttle boat runs from Sathorn Pier (BTS Saphan Taksin, Exit 2) from about 16:00 to 23:30. Honest verdict: the priciest market on this list – you pay for river breeze and convenience, not bargains.
11. Chang Chui Creative Park – the art one
Built around a decommissioned airliner on Sirindhorn Road, Bang Phlat, Chang Chui is a creative park first, market second: galleries, oddball design shops, craft beer. Free entry, 11:00-23:00 every day except Wednesday, night zone from 16:00. No train gets close – take a taxi, and go after dark when the plane is lit.
12. Khao San Road – the party street
Khao San’s stalls run nightly from sunset until late. Honest verdict: the most generic souvenirs in Bangkok – come for the energy, midnight pad thai and people-watching, not the shopping. No rail nearby; arrive by taxi or Chao Phraya river boat.
How do you shop a night market without hauling your bags around?
Night markets peak between 19:00 and 01:00 – exactly when you are between hotels or heading for a red-eye. The free option first: most hotels hold bags for a few hours after checkout; if you are coming back before evening, that is all you need.
